Brokpas

The Brokpas are a small ethnic group living in the Aryan Valley in the Ladakh region of India. They are believed to be descendants of the Dards, an Indo-Aryan people who once inhabited the region. The Brokpas are known for their unique cultural practices, including dress, language, and customs.

Additionally, they have their own customs and beliefs that blend Buddhism with indigenous practices in a way that is unique to them. Throughout the year, the Brokpas celebrate a number of festivals, including Losar, which marks the beginning of the Tibetan New Year, which is one of their most important festivals. 

Due to their remote location, the Brokpas have had limited contact with the outside world, and their traditional way of life has been largely preserved. However, in recent years, there has been some concern about tourism’s impact on their culture and environment. The Brokpas’ unique cultural heritage has been protected and promoted through sustainable tourism.
